Was it Worth It ?

The title of this post is actually also the title of the article/ talk from General Conference ( church thing to all my non-LDS friends) that I'm getting sentimental post number 2 from.

In this article the speaker (Elder David F. Evans) was talking about how his brother in law was converted to the church. When his brother in law bore his testimony years later he asked the question "was it worth it? " He later responded " Well , at least for my wife and our five children , the answer is yes."

The next quote in the talk was " Whenever the gospel is shared , it is never 'just one boy.' Whenever conversion happens or someone returns to the Lord , it is a family that is saved." Reading this talk , it really hit home. My dad is a convert to the church , and personally I LOVE hearing the story about how he was introduced to the gospel.

I don't think I've ever met the person who asked my dad if he had ever heard of Joseph Smith , but I will forever be grateful for the courage he took when he shared his beliefs to my father. I will be forever grateful that my dads heart and mind were open to listening to them. I hope one day to be able to go up to that man and thank him for "saving my family."

Without all that , my dad wouldn't have met my mom. They wouldn't have gotten married. They wouldn't have had me and my sisters. I wouldn't have met the man I was able to marry for all time and eternity , and be blessed enough to be able to start our own family. So even if he never reads this or whatever , this is my little shout out to the man who not only converted my dad , but saved a family. To him I say. Yes , it was worth it. Thank you .
