Easter was actually a really laid back holiday for us this year. We woke up , got ready and went to church. Then we came home and pretty much just hung out / napped until it was time to skype my dad and sister. Or go to work in Gregg's case. These pictures of Zoe were snapped while her daddy was getting ready for church. I only felt slightly bad that I gave her the Easter basket while daddy was in the shower and couldn't see her reaction.
As far as her reaction goes I got more of a reaction than I thought I would. I gave her the bucket and she lunged for it. It cracked me up. Of course the first thing she went for was the peeps. I think she mostly went for those because it has the plastic wrap that makes a crinkly noise when you grab at it , and that's currently one of her favorite noises.
It took me forever to decide what to put in her basket. She can't eat candy really and she wouldn't really appreciate a whole lot. She loves books so I pretty much knew we'd get her a book. As you can see she got "Are You My Mother ?" . At the suggestion of my mom , we got her some puff snacks that are Strawberry-Apple flavored. They're a new texture for her , so she doesn't really like them yet. She'll eat them , but I think they still kind of freak her out. Gregg thought she deserved some peeps. So she got those too.
In my basket I got some Recees Peanut butter eggs , my FAVORITE Cadbury Caramel Eggs , and some chocolate covered marshmallows that I pretty much spit out the second it touched my mouth. Those were gross. I'm really bummed that I have to wait a WHOLE year before I get my caramel eggs again. I've been eating those slowly. I only got 8 in my basket , and I think I have 5 left ?
Gregg bought his own candy , but it was pretty much the same stuff I got. Peeps ( I got those too) , and then instead of caramel eggs he got a dove chocolate bunny. All in all I think it was a pretty successful holiday and I can't wait until next year when we can get her a little bit more in her basket!
